Study Abroad
Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program in England
Each summer, during session 2, the Medieval and Renaissance Studies program takes 15-25 undergraduates to study in England. (Declared MRST minors are given priority of admission). For the first three and a half weeks at Durham University, interdisciplinary study of the Old English, Anglo-Norman and Middle English periods is complemented by site visits and extended weekend excursions; the last week and a half in London is dedicated exclusively to site visits. Students earn six hours of 3000-level credit in History or English or Humanities or Medieval and Renaissance Studies or any combination thereof. Theatre in London Program
Our Theatre in London Program is a six-hour course team-taught by an English professor and a professor from the Department of Theatre. The students hear lectures in dramatic history, learn about aspects of theatrical production, and attend a wide variety of theatrical and cultural performances in London and Stratford. The program usually involves travel to other English cities of interest, such as Canterbury, Bath, and Oxford. Click the link above to apply, and click here to see the 2020 program flyer.
